What to expect

At first, this site will be pretty sparse, since I only just started it. But it’ll start growing soon enough. And when it does, what should you expect to find here?

  • Blog entries about writing: when I began writing, I had a tough time getting ideas onto the page. Since then, I’ve turned writing into an enjoyable hobby, with a novel ready for publishing and another set of stories well on the way to completion. And I’m hoping that some of my experiences can help others who might be discouraged and stuck: check out the Pen & Keyboard page, where those entries will start appearing.

  • Maps and diagrams: I also create alternate history maps and transit diagrams in Inkscape, so I’ll post some here in The Map Room.

  • Reviews and recommendations for books, films, shows, games, and potentially more: I’ll likely start with whatever happens to come to mind, but if this site ever gets much of an audience, I’ll certainly aim for topics that people want to read about.

  • I may also branch out into parenting/childcare, eating gluten free (I have Celiac Disease), some recommendations or reviews of businesses/restaurants in my area (or areas that I visit), and/or home projects if those seem like a good fit. If I start doing this, I’ll open up a miscellany space.

  • I might dive into some engineering content, but since I do that as my day job, I’m not as likely to push that content; that being said, if I discover something that I find very useful in my work, I’ll post about it.

Thanks, and I hope you find something here that you enjoy!

Hi, and welcome to my site! In my day-to-day professional life, I’m a mechanical & aeronautical engineer who designs cool machines, structures, and technologies to solve challenging problems. Outside of that professional life, I’m a father of two and an enthusiast for books, films, games (of the computer, video, and board varieties), and maps. And, perhaps most pertinent to this site, I’m an aspiring author.
